"Phishing" is a fraudulent act of stealing personal information by luring users to a fake website that looks exactly like the real thing, in order to deprive them of information of financial value (e.g., usernames, passwords, mnemonic passphrases, credit card information). The reason why this happens is that at first glance, phishing sites are often made to look so similar that it is difficult to distinguish between real and fake sites, and there is no shortage of people who are inadvertently tricked.
